| “Ride,
Power, Visability, Low Noise, Low Fuel Consumption, Simple to Maintain,
Plus Good Service, What else do you need!” – Battle Creek
Spraying, Brad Nitsch, Hunter, Kansas
In my operation I have operated several pieces of equipment over the last several years including Terragators, 854 Rowgators, 1254 Rowgators and John Deere. I recently traded a John Deere for an Apache and would not have anything other than an Apache. The thing I was most pleasantly surprised with was the ride of my Apache. It was far superior to the rowgators and as good or better than my John Deere. The John Deere had a good boom, but the Apache is better due to the automatic leveling of the suspension which keeps the boom level. My fuel consumption is 25% less with the Apache. I believe that’s due to the inefficiency of hydrostats plus on a hydrostat your engine is at full throttle all day no matter what speed your running. By not running the engine at full throttle also aids with the noise level in the cab and you don’t have the engine screaming at you all day long along with the wine of the hydrostat. My Apache has plenty of power to maintain a consistent spraying speed in hills or over terraces, and I power right through muddy or soft conditions. If you understand hydrostic drives you know they are not four-wheel drive but rather four wheel powered and in mud you are two-drive with half the horsepower which doesn’t get you very far. On the Apache, all the service and repair points are easily accessible and easy to work on if necessary. I have had no breakdowns with my Apache except a few minor Raven problems which Tony with Moss Sales and Service took care of.
